I have loved animals all my life. Pets have been my constant companions: those with and without fur - fish, birds, cats, horses, goats and dogs. I have always believed in the power of the animal/human bond and its restorative power.
My professional path first led me to Veterinary Medicine. At that time, I could not afford the tuition and I began a path to Social Work in a state college.
I have remained in social work focusing on addiction, and recently prevention in the schools.
I owned a small farm providing horse boarding and lessons. I worked with challenged children. After years of hard work it was time to move on and the farm was recently sold.
The Veterinary Social Work Certificate program has been a very exciting and rewarding experience providing both knowledge and tools for new projects.
