Hanna Mamzer holds MA in psychology, PhD in Sociology of culture and works as a professor at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, Poland. Her scientific research interests are focused on posthumanism and human-animal studies. Within this framework scientists try to re-define human position in natural world and question anthropocentric perspective on human-non-human relations. Hanna acts as witness expert for Polish courts, providing professional opinions and expertise in cases of animal abuse and maltreatment. She specializes in animal welfare, in particular dogs- in order to enrich knowledge and experience in this area she recently graduated from veterinary professional school. She is a member of Local Ethical Committee on Experiments on Animals (for Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education). Hanna is a president of small local ecological association “Czysta Nekla” and she is a member of Polish Ethical Association. She is a grantee of Polish and international scholarships. Among many others she has received two Fulbright Commission’s grants (2005 and 2018); Central European University grant in Budapest, Hungary and Clare Hall College grant in Cambridge, UK. Hanna believes that humans as species are responsible for sustainable development of their own population but also for taking care of natural resources. Being vegan she is deeply convinced, that each of us can make a difference, by their individual choices which contribute to the balance of natural resources on Earth. She shares her house with seven dogs and one cat.
