I am Veterinarian (2001) and Ph.D (2008) from the University of Buenos Aires (UBA). I have a permanent position as Professional Researcher at the National Institute of Agronomic Technology (INTA) in Castelar, and Associate Researcher at the National Research Council of Argentina (CONICET). Currently, I am developing the Animal Welfare Research Area (production, lab and wild animals) at the Pathobiology Institute of INTA-Castelar. I am the vet in charge of INTA Experimental Llama´s Herd, for VHH antibodies production. I am closely collaborate during the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic status to obtain antibodies against COVID-19 (VHH in llamas and IgY from lying hens). I am Professor of Ethology and Animal Welfare, Veterinary College of the Universidad del Salvador (USAL), in Buenos Aires. I am member of the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC-CICUAE) of INTA-Castelar. Since 2003 I have been working with SAC concerning farming, health, infectious diseases, animal welfare and conservation issues within VICAM, as responsible for the management of wild vicuñas and as a field veterinarian in wild SAC conservation programs as member of the IUCN South American Camelids Specialist Group (GECS), Animal Welfare commission. I collaborate with Nuñoa Project Peru, working together with andean communities to improve the reproductive management of alpacas in the Peruvian highlands. My focus is to develop protocols for humane treatment of animals, welfare friendly production system and education at all levels (scientific, students, producers and general society) to keep our animals in good performance, within an ethical framework.
