Aviva received her doctoral degree from Case Western Reserve University, Mandel School of Social Welfare in Veterinary Social Work. Her research focuses on the biological impact that animals have on children, specifically in the reduction on fear and anxiety in stressful situations. Her prior experience in program design, implementation, and evaluation has supported the growth of sustainable programming and partnership expansion. She holds certifications as a Licensed Masters Social Worker in Ohio, Veterinary Social Work Certificate from the University of Tennessee, Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor and Equine Specialist in Mental Health and Learning from PATH International. She is an adjunct faculty at Case Western Reserve University and University of Tennessee. Aviva has been engaged in therapeutic riding since 2000, beginning in Connecticut before relocating to Ohio.
