About this speaker
Angie Arora, MSW, RSW, is a Veterinary Social Worker from Canada with over 15 years of experience in the areas of pet loss and compassion resilience. She has supported people grieving the loss of their animals both in community and veterinary settings through counselling, facilitating support groups, engaging in media interviews and organizing public education efforts. As a Certified Compassion Fatigue Specialist with the Traumatology Institute, Angie supports veterinary care providers in enhancing their personal and professional wellness through coaching and organizational trainings.
Angie is a professor with Seneca College’s Social Service Worker program where she was the principal investigator for a research project developing Pet Loss Best Practice Guidelines for Veterinary Teams. She remains grounded in community-based work and serves on the inaugural Board for the International Association of Veterinary Social Work and is a Virtual Pet Loss Support Group Facilitator with VetVine. Angie is currently exploring ways to improve post graduate educational opportunities in the area of veterinary human services within Canada.
